"With Southeast Asia set to become the largest wealth market in the world, the jewelry industry will most certainly grow in tandem, " he said. The four-day fair has 12 pavilions, including nine country and region pavilions and three special-themed ones such as the Antique Pavilion, the Designer Atelier and the Exquisite Pavilion. An antique Victorian diamond tiara dating back to 1850, worth $20 million, was sold Saturday morning. Aspiring Queens actress sues after her picture appears in Di Modolo jewelry ad

An aspiring Queens actress has replaced A-Listers like Catherine Zeta Jones and Tea Leoni as the face of Di Modolo fine jewelry but she's not happy about it. Stella Velon, who has appeared in Gossip Girl and an independent film, Shutterbug, says in a lawsuit that Di Modolo used her image without permission and then never paid her properly before plastering her face on billboards along the New Jersey Turnpike and in Bloomingdales ads. In papers filed Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, Velon says that when she agreed to do test shots with SoHo photographer Mani Zarrin in September 2011, she didn't know that Di Modolo was behind the casting call. Velon who has done modeling for Calvin Klein, Lacoste and Oribe hair products was invited to the call by Ana Martins PR which never told her that "the photos taken during that shoot were anything more than a test, the court papers charge. Among those participating in the shoot were a male model and another female model, Stacey Cooper, who Velon described as the fiancee of Di Modolo's president, Benny Shabati, according to the papers. Velon said she was paid on the spot $400 cash for the test shot, and five days later, when the Ana Martins' agency asked her to sign a release, she did so thinking that she was merely giving the agency permission to show her photo around. Then in January 2012, wholesale jewelry distributors Velon says, she accidentally discovered that her face was on a Di Modolo billboard on the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 14.
